RKI Changed 10.6 PID Sensor Full-Scale Range
11th Sep 2025
Customers have asked, "Why was the full-scale range changed from 6000 ppm to 4000 ppm on RKI's 10.6 PID sensor?" RKI Explains.
"Riken Keiki engineering tested RKI's 10.6 PID sensor readings at the top range, and discovered readings on the 10.6 PID sensor consistently max out at 4,500 ppm instead of 6,000 ppm. Because of this, the 6,000 ppm full scale was potentially misleading. The company set the new full scale to 4,000 ppm to better reflect the sensor's actual reliable measurement range."
The decision to make this change was made early 2024.
When the full-scale sensor was updated to 4000 ppm, the replacement sensor part number changed from PID-002L to PID-002LA
The change does NOT affect sensor performance. It simply aligns the displayed full-scale range with the sensor's actual measurement capability, improving accuracy and reducing potential confusion.
